CD4 and Sepsis: The was based on the following findings: (1) the percentage of mHLA‐DR +, PD‐1 + CD4‐CD8‐T cells, and the nCD64 index were significantly different between patients with and without sepsis; furthermore, the proportion of mHLA‐DR+ and PD‐1 + CD4‐CD8‐T cells was also significantly different between septic patients who died in the ICU and those who survived; (2) there was a marked gain in discriminative power of diagnostic or prognostic markers of sepsis when the combination that yielded the highest AUC was employed; and (3) adding PCT has improved the discriminative power of combined panel.
