Recently, Orellana et al revealed that the METTL1/WDR4 complex could regulate the oncogenesis of many types of human cancers, such as breast cancers, glioblastomas, certain sarcomas, and AML via tRNA ArgTCT−4–1 mediated translation bias of cell growth associated mRNAs, and emphasis on the ubiquitous role of METTL1 across various tumors [35]. The gene discussed is WDR4; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
