HMGCR and breast cancer: Hu C et al. found that inhibition of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway by wortmannin reduced TF expression in breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells [21], and Simvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, was found to inhibit thrombin-induced TF expression in human endothelial cells through inhibition of AKT [22].
