A significantly increased expression of MFN1, MFN2 and OPA1 in naive CD4+T cells was found in UNT compared with HD (MFN1: P = 0.0017; MFN2: P = 0.0217; OPA1: P = 0.0006), suggesting an increased mitochondrial fusion of naive CD4+T cells in HIV infection. Here, MFN2 is linked to HIV infectious disease.
