Here, we substantiated this hypothesis through activating SIRT3 with kaempferol (Li et al., 2022; Marfe et al., 2009), a small polyphenolic molecule widely found in plants, which has been shown in several studies to ameliorate a variety of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease (Holland et al., 2020; Xie et al., 2022) and cognitive impairment (Li et al., 2022). Here, SIRT3 is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
