Through preliminary in vivo and in vitro experiments, we found that silencing FTO or ALKBH5 alone could inhibit the malignant biological behavior of NPC cells for a short time, which not only verified the conclusion of the above study [19] but also revealed that ALKBH5, as another demethylase, plays a role similar to that of FTO. This evidence concerns the gene ALKBH5 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
