Studies validated a decrease in miR-141 expression and associated this decrease with the transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) signaling pathway in HT (119); furthermore, they showed that decreased expression of miR146b, miR-221, and miR-222 could play a role in the development of papillary thyroid carcinoma (120). This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and thyroid gland papillary carcinoma.
