The binding of IFI16, a sensor of DNA in the innate immune response, to ARPC1B, a subunit of the actin-related protein-2/3 complex, resulted in activation of the NF-kappa-B pathway that contributed to promotion of a mesenchymal phenotype transformation and radiotherapy resistance in GBM stem cells and a xenograft mouse model (Gao et al., 2022). The gene discussed is IFI16; the disease is glioblastoma.
