In the field of cancer research, Gas6 binds to TAM receptors in cancer cells to promote their proliferation and migration and inhibit apoptosis; meanwhile, tumors can stimulate the overexpression and secretion of Gas6 from macrophages within the tumor by secreting interleukin IL-10 and M-CSF (macrophage colony-stimulating factor) into the microenvironment (D'Oronzo et al., 2019).
