Studies have shown that IL-6 can promote the migration of glioma cells (Wang et al., 2019), and cucuritin-1, a specific inhibitor of STAT3, can inhibit this promoting effect of IL-6 (Lin et al., 2011), suggesting that IL-6 may regulate the invasion of glioma through JAK/STAT pathway. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and central nervous system cancer.
