ABCB1 and breast cancer: Previous studies demonstrated that curcumin possesses potential chemical properties contributing to anti-breast cancer (anti-BC) effects on several phenotypes through the following mechanisms: (a) inhibition of P-glycoprotein activity and reduction in drug resistance; (b) induction of the cell cycle; (c) initiation of apoptosis and ferroptosis; and (d) regulation of the progression of the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT).
