Hypothesizing that the cytoprotective action of AdipoRon could favorably influence the outcome of ZIKV infection, we found in our in vitro infection model of A549 cells expressing adiponectin receptors (mainly ADIPOR1 and to a lesser extent ADIPOR2, Figure 1) that AdipoRon was indeed able to limit infection. The gene discussed is ADIPOR2; the disease is infection.
