Although there are conflicting data on the association of the disease with the presence of butyrate-producing bacteria, a dysbiotic feature seems to be present in patients with MM [35,36], and a correlation between levels of Interleukin 17 (IL17) in the bone marrow of patients with MM and the composition of the microbiota is currently being explored (NCT05712967) [37]. The gene discussed is IL17A; the disease is Miyoshi myopathy.
