Approximately 10% of patients were prescribed a benzodiazepine; with a similar prevalence found forantiplatelet agents with a vitamin K antagonist, direct thrombin inhibitor or factor Xa inhibitors with stable coronary, cerebrovascular or peripheral arterial disease and antimuscarinic drugs with dementia or narrow-angle glaucoma or chronic prostatism (Supplementary STOPP version 2 Table).
