Despite the few reports in the literature on the combination of immunotherapy and virotherapy, the association of immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting PD-1 and/or cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) with OV offers a new perspective in cancer treatment, particularly in cancers with an immunosuppressive microenvironment in which monotherapy with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors can become ineffective. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and cancer.
