By detecting the changes of biomarkers related to invasion and migration, such as FAK, integrin-α3β1, β-catenin, and metalloproteinases (MMPs), it was finally proposed that FUT8 deficiency inhibits the migration of human breast cancer cells through three ways: inhibition of the FAK/integrin signaling pathway by suppressing the core fucosylation of E-cadherin; inhibition of Wnt/β-Catenin signaling by reducing the accumulation of nuclear β-catenin; inhibition of the deterioration of tumor microenvironment by down-regulating the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 [54].
