The amount of CCL2 protein was significantly higher in patients with the presence of biological (p = 0.019; Figure 6B) and cutaneous manifestations (p = 0.039; Figure 6C), as defined in EULAR Sjögren’s syndrome disease activity index (ESSDAI) (clinical index designed to measure disease activity in patients with pSS [45]), than in patients with no biological manifestations.
