Ibrutinib, an inhibitor of the Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK), and venetoclax, an inhibitor of B-cell lymphoma-2 protein (BCL-2), were recently approved in combination by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adult patients with CLL, offering a potential standard treatment for CLL and hopefully for MCL patients in the future [24,25]. Here, BCL2 is linked to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
