CRP and acute pancreatitis: Our study aimed to evaluate the clinical association between serum ferritin and the severity of acute pancreatitis, graded according to the revised Atlanta classification, and to analyze the significance of the ferritin-to-hemoglobin ratio (FHR) as a predictive marker of severity and for risk stratification at admission, next to classic biomarkers of inflammation or severity, such as C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, D-dimers, or procalcitonin.
