This study examined the effect of a balanced diet of low saturated fat, increased fruit and vegetable consumption, and achievable goals in physical activity on whole genome methylation and specific genes related to obesity, metabolism, and growth (IGF2, RXRA, PPARGC1A, and MEST) in the cord blood of children of obese mothers. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
