TRIB2 has emerged as an important contributor to malignant hematopoiesis: it induces acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) in mice and is highly expressed in a subset of human AML, exerting its oncogenic role via degradation of C/EBPα transcription factor, a known regulator of cell proliferation [21,22]. The gene discussed is TRIB2; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
