The prevalence of MUTYH mutation was significantly higher in the subpopulation with polyposis vs. without (11.3% vs. 1.1%, p < 0.00001) and was not significantly different in the subpopulation with colorectal cancer vs. without (1.8% vs. 1.6%, p = 0.74) or breast cancer vs. without (1.8% vs. 1.5%, p = 0.49). The gene discussed is MUTYH; the disease is breast carcinoma.
