As shown by MSH3 IHC staining where the anti-MSH3 antibody utilized recognizes the N-terminus of MSH3, either one or both mutated proteins are translated and remain in the cytoplasm but not in the nucleus of normal colon and tumor cells and seem to accumulate in the cytoplasm and the cell membrane of several tumor epithelial cells (Fig. 2B).
