TP53 and colorectal carcinoma: In human diploid fibroblasts and human colorectal carcinoma cell line, miR-194 can be up-regulated by the tumor suppressor p53, which regulates the expression of microRNAs at different levels, p53 might enhance the cleavage processivity of Drosha [16,17] and thus, p53 can promote the processing of specific pri-miRNAs to pre-miRNAs of several microRNAs [18], however, whether the same mechanisms occur in PBMCs from dogs with leishmaniasis still needs to be elucidated.
