FXR1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: FXR1 has upregulated in HNSCC; inhibiting FXR1 causes deactivation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt signaling pathway and induces the expression of genes associated with senescence such as PTEN, p53, p21, and p27. Overexpression of FXR1 regulates the cycle of p21 and TERC mRNA to avoid senescence.
