In a study of more than 30,000 patients treated with anti-TNF during 2007–2009, 158 patients (0.51%) developed mycoses or mycobacterioses; about half of these infections were fungal, including histoplasmosis, pneumocystosis, cryptococcosis, coccidioidomycosis, and blastomycosis.47 The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is histoplasmosis.
