In agreement with the results from Cibersort, samples during infection had higher levels of expression for genes such as Maf, Icos (CD4 T cell activation), Cd69, FCGR3 (NK cell activation), Cd80, CD86 (macrophages M), as well as markers of cytotoxicity (GZMB, GZMK) and inflammation (IFNG, TNF) (Fig 3C and corresponding S5 Data).
