Indeed, histone lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) was found to be inadequately upregulated in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissue, where it correlated with tumor stage, and in an orthotopic oral cancer mouse model, where LSD1 overexpression was found to be metastagenic, whereas LSD1-knockdown abrogated tumor spread (Alsaqer et al., 2017[8]). Here, KDM1A is linked to oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma.
