Together, these findings reveal considerable heterogeneity across mouse models of ASD in adulthood; although Gabrb3+/–, Mecp2–/y, Nlgn2+/– and Rorbh1/+ animals all exhibit aberrant tactile behaviors, Gabrb3+/– and Mecp2–/y animals also display enhanced anxiety-like behaviors and reduced sociability23, whereas Nlgn2+/– and Rorbh1/+ animals do not. The gene discussed is MECP2; the disease is Anxiety.
