Despite these marked changes in tactile reactivity and texture discrimination, Nlgn2+/– mice showed no alterations in anxiety-like or social interaction behaviors compared to control littermates (Fig. 1d–g and Extended Data Fig. 1a,d,e), although Nlgn2–/– mice exhibited reduced time spent in the center of the open field (Extended Data Fig. 1a,c,d).
