A one-unit decrease in the scaled serum uric acid levels related to the selected XDH variants was associated with a 15% reduction in the odds of gout (odds ratio [OR], 0.85; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.78–0.93; P < 0.001) and cerebral infarction (OR, 0.86; 95% CI, 0.75–0.98; P = 0.023).
