Interestingly, Bcl-2 has been reported to localize to the nucleus in various cancer types including breast cancer, endometrial carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and astrocytoma (Chan et al, 1995; Mosnier et al, 1996; Choi et al, 2016), where it appears to take part in a multiprotein complex comprising CDK1, PP1, and nucleolin (Barboule et al, 2005, 2009). The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is squamous cell carcinoma.
