It has been shown that the PB1 protein of IAV is associated with the selective autophagic receptor neighbor of BRCA1 (NBR1), and the latter recognizes ubiquitinated MAVS and targets it for autophagic degradation, consequently restraining the RIG-I-MAVS-mediated innate immune signaling and facilitating viral infection [22]. This evidence concerns the gene MAVS and viral infectious disease.
