AKR1C3 and cancer: To elucidate the cancer-related pathways enrichment difference of these paclitaxel-resistant subsets, we calculated the hallmark enrichment score (median) of each cell subset and found that the apoptosis, bile acid metabolism, interferon response, heme metabolism and reactive oxygen species (ROS) pathways in AKR1C3+ cell subset was significantly activated (Fig 2A).
