Our results also showed that NPW treatment inhibited lipid peroxidation and MPO activity, reduced release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and replenished the antioxidant GSH content, showing that the anti-ulcer effect of NPW occurs by inhibiting neutrophil recruitment and upregulating the antioxidant capacity during the chronic oxidative progression of gastric ulcer.
