For malignant glioma, specifically glioblastoma (GBM, IDH wild-type), a central aspect of clinical decision-making and prognosis is the de novo methylation status of the promoter of O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) [1–8], routinely assayed during neuropathologic diagnosis. This evidence concerns the gene MGMT and glioblastoma.
