NLRP3 inflammasome-dependent caspase-1 activation is an important pathway related to IL-1β release [39] and has been implicated in the pathophysiology of neurological diseases, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy [40–42]. The gene discussed is NLRP3; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
