Motivated by the reported role of excessive FGF23 in inducing left ventricular hypertrophy, cardiac fibrosis, and vascular calcification (Böckmann et al., 2019; Faul et al., 2011; Hao et al., 2016; Jimbo et al., 2014), we next examined transverse cross‐section of the heart for histological changes. The gene discussed is FGF23; the disease is left ventricular hypertrophy.
