ACSL4 and myocardial ischemia: Acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4 (ACSL4) is a key enzyme involved in regulating lipid composition and has been shown to be implicated in ferroptosis.[16] Evidence suggests that preventing myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury can be achieved by inhibiting the ACSL4-mediated ferroptosis pathway.[17] This indicates that ACSL4 plays a role in ferroptosis and ischemia-reperfusion injury.
