Using the proliferation of the BT474 breast cancer cell line as a read-out, it was shown that CPT1A-mediated succinylation inhibited the catalytic activity of ENO1, but promoted glutamine-independent cell proliferation, a rescue mechanism of ENO-deficient MDA-MB231 breast cancer cells that had previously been reported [28, 97]. This evidence concerns the gene CPT1A and breast carcinoma.
