Notably, we found that a variety of inflammation-related proteins, such as CD14, FABP5, IKBKB, FOS, IRF9, NFYB, NR4A1 and SEMA7A, as well as proteins associated with cytokine and chemokine release, such as HMGB1 and PPBP (CXCL7), were upregulated in PCOS patients with a normal BMI (Supplementary Table 4). This evidence concerns the gene CD14 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
