The lower hepatic glycogen concentration promoted by the consumption of Tucum-do-Cerrado when combined with a HF diet was associated with increased activity of the glycolytic enzyme phosphofructokinase-1 (PFK-1), suggesting that Tucum-do-Cerrado activated glycogenolysis, and consequently, the glycolytic pathway in a HF diet-induced obesity model. Here, HK1 is linked to hydrops fetalis.
