[46] showed that if 30–40% of unselected melanoma patients who exhibit an objective antitumor response to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 drugs are stratified by PD-L1 expression, those who express PD-L1 tend to have higher average response rates ranging from 50% to 60%, while those who do not express PD-L1 exhibit lower average response rates, typically falling within the range of 10% to 20%.
