AKT1 and urinary bladder carcinoma: Research shows that increased activation of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTK), including the platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR), c-KIT receptor, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), or vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) [12,13,14,15,16] and the intracellular PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway [17,18,19] may play a huge role in the development of bladder cancer.
