In 2022, Wang et al. published a study on a group of 703 women in first and second trimester of pregnancy and found that plasma chemerin levels are higher in women with GDM (135.8 ± 53.5 ng/mL) compared to pregnant women with normal glucose tolerance (93.4 ± 38.9 ng/mL) and non-pregnant healthy subjects (103.4 ± 45.3 ng/mL). Here, RARRES2 is linked to gestational diabetes.
