Our previous study sheds light for the first time on MAPK15′s role as an oncokinase, whereby the epidermal growth factor-activated MAPK15 phosphorylates the proto-oncogene c-Jun at Ser 63/73 and increases AP-1 activity, resulting in an enhanced anchorage-independent cell transformation and tumorigenesis of colon cancer [20]. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK15 and malignant colon neoplasm.
