Notably, p70S6K/4EBP1 and survivin are widely overexpressed in HCC (~70% of cases), and these factors are significantly associated with the pathological grade of HCC (e.g., high expression of survivin is an independent indicator of a poor prognosis in HCC patients) [37,60]; thus, this highly effective combination of everolimus/vinorelbine may prove to be particularly relevant in clinical settings of HCC as a rational treatment option. This evidence concerns the gene EIF4EBP1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
