It was shown that in PCa-cell-line-derived xenografts, saffron and its main metabolites CR and CCT inhibited PCa cell invasion and migration and reverted the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), as evidenced by the significant reduction in N-cadherin and beta-catenin expression and the increased expression of E-cadherin [14]. The gene discussed is CTNNB1; the disease is posterior cortical atrophy.
