Regarding the effect of the overnutrition of mothers on the offspring while no alterations in the GFAP levels, which have been previously associated with neuroinflammation [25,26], we observed increased levels of TNF-α, particularly on the hippocampus of the males, and increased levels of IL6-R at the hypothalamus and at the hippocampus in both males and females, suggesting that neuroinflammation in a neurobiological process underlies the development of stress and anxiety behaviors. The gene discussed is GFAP; the disease is Anxiety.
