In particular, many inherited syndromes such as Familial gastrointestinal stromal tumor syndrome (GIST), Li–Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), neurofibromatosis (NF1), and retinoblastoma (Rb), Bloom syndrome (BS), fumarate hydratase (FH), Rothmund–Thompson syndrome (RTS), and Werner syndrome (WS) are responsible for an increased risk of developing this type of cancer [17].
