Comparably, a correlation between elevated SEC62 expression and the presence of lymph node metastases, as shown in our study (see Figure 2A), has also been reported in an earlier study of our group that investigated SEC62 and SOX2 expression in a cohort of 65 HNSCC patients and 29 cancer of unknown primary (CUP) patients undergoing surgery [22]. Here, SOX2 is linked to metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
